Kate was initially discouraged from taking up the French Horn because of its difficulty. But it didn’t stop her and at 23 she has spent the last decade, learning, playing, competing and achieving the highest of performance and academic standards. From Secondary School orchestras to NZSO, RNZAF Band, and as a soloist, Kate completed a Bachelors in Classical Performance with First Class Honours at the NZ School of Music. Now 23, Kate has successfully auditioned for the prestigious Guildhall Artist Masters in Orchestral Artistry. This Grant will support Kate to take up this place in London where she will be able to work with some of the world’s best musicians and orchestras.
