Having played hockey since he was 3, and for Canterbury since he was 11, Matthew has now played and coached at all levels and is just as passionate about supporting others. Selected in NZ Jnr squads for the last 3 years. Matthew is also head coach for Burnside High School boys while playing for the NZ U18 and NZ U21 squads. As part of the U21 Jnr Black Sticks, this Grant will help 20 year old Matthew compete in Malaysia in the Hockey Jnr World Cup as part of the next step to be selected for the Black Sticks and ultimately compete at the Olympics.
