In her last 4 years at Marlborough Girl’s College Bess has been wholeheartedly committed to developing her leadership, entrepreneurial and mentoring skills to encourage and support her fellow students and the community. In 2023 she was selected as a Star Mentor helping Year 9 students to build positive relationships and imparting key life skills to help them navigate college life. Her “endless commitment” to volunteering to help others included leading a group to organise events to raise $13,000 in honour of a friend who passed away. Two significant achievements for Bess in the last year were leading her team to victory at the 2023 YES ‘Entrepreneurs in Action’ weekend and being accepted into the Pacific Student Leaders Programme in the Cook Islands - the Lead Facilitator commenting on Bess’s exceptional application and her ability to have a positive influence on those around her through her leadership.
